With the Oscars happening this past weekend, fashion news has been swamped with red carpet outfits and costume design. Wicked’s costume designer, Paul Tazewell, made history by becoming the first Black man to win an Oscar in costume design.

In response to these increased prices, consumers are looking towards secondhand shopping. They are running to local vintage stores and online sellers, such as Vinted and Depop, to minimize the prices of clothes they are buying.
As Target dropped its DEI efforts, it took a big hit because of the national boycott. Target’s app and web traffic dropped by nearly 15% on the day they reversed their plans to improve DEI.
Well Trump sets a precedent of not caring about the environment, California aims to counter that with their new act, called The Fashion Act. The Fashion Act will require most of the mainstream fashion businesses in California to make their garment production align with the rules of the Paris Agreement.
With the US cutting back its imports from China and imposing tariffs, Shein’s plans to announce their IPO have been stumped. The reduced shopping happening in the US has already caused Shein to lower its valuation to $50 billion, 50% of what it was before.
